Good news! According to the Kane County Office of Tourism, Governor Herbert has just authorized free admission to Utah state parks for anyone with a national parks pass, during the shutdown.
Additionally, this news on Zion National Park:
“The Washington County Commissioners are talking to the authorities about opening Zion NP restrooms, facilities, and pull outs. [Utah officials] hope to have Zions completely ‘open’ by tomorrow and for weekend visitation; of course passenger cars can travel hwy 9 now (no busses or oversize vehicles).”
And for Lake Powell:
“The State is still trying to find a way to open Lake Powell, but there are issues with Quagga Mussel inspection.”
